PM Modi Chairs Cabinet Meeting; Lauds Indian Military After Operation Sindoor
PM Narendra Modi has held a Cabinet Meeting today, on May 7, 2025, after Operation Sindoor and lauds the Indian Military for bravery and fierce actions by destroying terrorists’ hotspots located in Pakistan. Reportedly, the Indian military targeted nine terror sites in Pakistan and PoK, killing 80-90 terrorists linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen, in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam attack that claimed 26 lives.

Operation Sindoor, executed with precision missile strikes, was a response to escalating tensions after the Pahalgam massacre, with the Indian Armed Forces avoiding Pakistani military installations to keep the operation “focused and non-escalatory,” as stated by the defense ministry.

The meeting reflects India’s strategic shift towards proactive counter-terrorism measures, a policy reinforced after the 2019 Balakot airstrikes, with Modi granting the military “complete operational freedom” post-Pahalgam, signaling a tougher stance against cross-border terrorism.
However, on the Indian side, at least 10 civilians have been killed and 45 others injured in the worst-hit Poonch district after the Pakistani army resorted to heavy and indiscriminate shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border early Wednesday morning, officials confirmed.
