Zenith Irfan, Pakistan’s groundbreaking “Motorcycle Girl,” defies gender norms by embarking on daring solo journeys across the country on her motorcycle. What began as a tribute to her late father’s dream of riding around the world has evolved into an inspiring story of self-discovery, empowerment, and adventure. At just 20 years old, Zenith decided to honour her father’s unfulfilled wish, journeying 3200 km into the rugged northern areas of Pakistan—an act that not only challenged societal expectations but inspired countless others along the way. Now more than 50,000 km and a movie down the line, Zenith’s story is inspiring.
Growing up in Lahore, Zenith was raised by her mother, who supported her unconventional dream. When her brother bought his first motorcycle in 2013, Zenith quickly learned to ride. “My brother gave me riding lessons. It was then that I decided to embark on a motorcycle adventure after gaining adequate training,” she recalls. The pivotal moment came when Zenith’s mother encouraged her to take up her father’s dream, believing that the journey would create a lasting legacy. With this blessing, Zenith set off on a remarkable series of rides across Pakistan, embracing the open road, the elements, and the unknown.
Her most significant adventures took her to places like Khunjerab Pass, Hunza, Gilgit, and Skardu. Despite the risks, Zenith remained undaunted. “I don’t let fear come in the way of achieving something I aspire to,” she said. While others may hesitate due to the dangers of solo travel, Zenith pressed on, interacting with locals, many of whom were farmers and shepherds, and was overwhelmed by their encouragement. “The people were incredibly encouraging and supported me to carry this endeavour even further,” she remarked.

Throughout her journey, Zenith attracted international attention through her blog and social media. “I did not consciously try to inspire others,” she stated, “I simply opened up a page on Facebook and became a symbol of women empowerment in Pakistan.” Today, with over 106K followers on Instagram, Zenith’s posts chronicle her travels and reflections, capturing moments of hardship, joy, and connection with Pakistan’s diverse landscapes and communities. In one of her Instagram posts, she beautifully reflects on her experiences: “In that one glimpse of Khunjerab Pass, I can say I was simply captivated, lost in that moment. Standing high at the top, I felt invincible, as if I could conquer the world, even with my eyes closed.”
Zenith’s rides have not always been smooth, as she’s faced both environmental and societal challenges. In Chilas, a region with a violent reputation, she was advised to cover her face for safety. She rode cautiously through the mountains, but later reflected on the complex nature of the people she encountered. “There are people who kill thousands, but at the same time, there are many who want to spread peace and love. Never judge somebody’s existence on the basis of their skin, caste or religion,” she explained.

Safety has always been paramount for Zenith, who often keeps her travel plans secret to avoid potential risks. However, she remains undeterred and plans to continue her journeys. “I do plan on riding to many other places, but due to security reasons, I cannot disclose my location,” she said. She also emphasized the importance of letting children explore and find their own paths: “It is very important for parents to trust their children—we are bound to travel, and our inner selves crave to touch the earth’s surface.”
Despite the obstacles she faces, including criticism from some quarters, Zenith remains focused on her goals. “The more time they spend hating on me, the more motivated I am to ride and ride,” she said. “The amount of energy the haters put on hating me, I can use all of it to go on another tour and prove to them that the world cannot change by just typing on a keyboard.”
Zenith’s journey is one of both physical and spiritual exploration, with her father’s memory always at the forefront. “I did this for my father and I still do it for him. For me, going and riding across Pakistan is a spiritual endeavour,” she said. As she continues to break boundaries and ride through the country, her bike still has much more ground to cover, as Zenith plans to expand her travels, carrying her father’s dream with her. Her story serves as a powerful reminder that one person’s courage can inspire an entire generation.
In one of her Instagram reflections, she captured the essence of her journey: “The mountains made me feel free, as if nothing could hold me back anymore. This is my zenith, and I will keep pushing forward, no matter what.”

“I’m 29 years old, and it’s been 12 incredible years since I first started riding motorcycles.
Wow! What a journey it’s been!
With each passing year on the road, I’ve witnessed my own transformation, evolving into a new version of myself.
Traveling has enriched me, making me more human, empathetic, and understanding. I’ve learned to let go of anger and the desire to control things; now, I simply embrace acceptance.
One of the most profound lessons the road has taught me is the art of letting go….
And I encourage you to do the same today, just let go!”

“My birthday was spent traversing between the Koh-e-Khilafat mountain range as I made my way to Ziarat on my motorcycle.
My 20’s taught me a lot. Here is the ultimate wisdom I have gained: to surrender to the universe, embrace risks, and acknowledge that life is a grand adventure.
Life is an adventure. How can one grow without taking risks? I believe in jumping into the unknown & allowing the universe to guide me.
As I enter into my 29th year, with more than 200,000 km clocked it on my motorcycle, I am ready for a new adventure with heart full of gratitude and anticipation.
Thank you for always being a part of my story. ”

“Some paths are made for you to travel on.
I traveled young and it changed my life. I explored Pakistan on my bike, wearing my red biker jacket and feeling free. I discovered myself and inspired other girls to follow their dreams.
Traveling young made me happy and grateful. It also made me love Pakistan more than ever. It is a beautiful country that deserves to be seen and appreciated. 🇵🇰
I’m glad I followed my heart and made my own path. It led me to amazing adventures and memories. Thank you for being part of my journey.
Life is too short to waste on regrets and what-ifs. Go out there and make your own path. You never know where it might take you. “
