Cricketer Shami's Wife Moves Supreme Court Seeking Rs 10 Lakh Monthly Maintenance
New Delhi: Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami’s estranged wife, Hasin Jahan, has moved the Supreme Court against a Calcutta High Court order directing the cricketer to pay an interim maintenance of Rs 4 lakh per month. The wife has challenged the ruling seeking a monthly interim maintenance of Rs 10 lakh for herself and for their minor daughter.
She has also demanded the enhancement of the said amount to Rs 10 lakh. Following the case relating to domestic violence against the cricketer, the High Court in July directed to pay Rs 1,50,000 to the wife and Rs 2,50,000 to the daughter till the disposal of the case. The court, however, asked the petitioner whether the Rs 4 lakh ordered by the High Court was not sufficient for her.
