India on Friday has announced it playing XI for the fourth test against England at Ranchi. Rohit Sharma will lead the team. The team also includes Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill and Mohammad Siraj. The final test of the series will be played in Dharamsala.
England has earlier unveiled its playing XI on Thursday ahead of the Ranchi test with two changes. With this XI, the England team is expecting to regain control of the series after badly losing against India in Rajkot. Following the back-to-back wins in the second and third Tests, India is now leading the five-match series against England. The victory in this match will seal the victory for the Indian team.
The fourth test between India and England is slated to begin at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi on February 23. England”s skipper won the toss and opted to bat first. The two changes made in England”s team are Ollie Robinson and Shoaib Bashir in place of Mark Wood and Rehan Ahmed. Meanwhile, India has also made one change to the playing XI. The team has replaced Jasprit Bumrah with Akash Deep.
India and England have met each other in Test cricket on as many as 134 occasions, with the Indian team winning 33 of those encounters. It was in the test match in January 2024, that England won against India.
