Inzamam-ul-Haq Accuses Team India Of Ball-Tampering vs Australia In T20 World Cup 2024

Former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq has accused Team India of ball-tampering in the Super 8 Group 1 clash against Australia of the T20 World Cup 2024.

Haq made the accusations based on his observations during the match. He said that Arshdeep Singh got the new ball to reverse swing in the 15th over which means Team India must have tampered with the ball in the 12th or 13th over. The 54-year-old also advised the umpires to keep their eyes open during the match.

“When Arshdeep Singh was bowling the 15th over, there was reverse swing. With the new ball, it is too early. This means that the ball was tampered around the 12th or 13th over to get reverse swing. So, the umpires should keep their eyes open,” Inzamam said during a discussion on 24 News.

Former Pakistan batter Saleem Malik also joined Haq in accusing Team India and suggested that the umpires must be stricter in their approach.

“There is a saying that the umpires keep their eyes closed for some teams, and India are one of them. I remember getting fined for reporting a similar situation during a game against Pakistan,” Malik pointed out.

Incidentally, Arshdeep is the second highest wicket-taker in the T20 World Cup 2024. He has scalped 15 wickets in six matches with the best bowling figures of 4/9.

Team India will take on England in the semi-final 2 at the Providence Stadium, Guyana.
