Manu Bhaker All Set For Third Olympic Medal: Women’s 25m Pistol Finals Today

India’s shooting sensation Manu Bhaker, the first Indian to clinch two medals in a single Olympics, is back in action in her quest for a record 3rd medal. Manu Bhaker will take part in the final of the women’s 25m pistol event today.

The 22-year-old will be aiming for a hat-trick of medals. Manu won the first bronze medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event and followed it up with another bronze in the 10m air pistol in the mixed team event along with Sarabjot Singh.

Manu qualified second in the qualification round on Friday. She shot an amazing 294 in the ‘precision’ round and was even more menacing in the rapid round to score 296 and aggregate 590.

If Manu wins the third medal, it will undoubtedly elevate her to the status of being one of India’s most successful Olympians. No Indian has ever won three Olympic medals in individual events.

Sushil Kumar and PV Sindhu are the only two athletes who have multiple Olympic medals in individual events since India’s independence.
So far, all three Indian medals, all bronze, have come from shooting, with Manu being involved in two of them.

Manu Bhaker’s 25m pistol final at the Paris Olympics 2024 will begin at 1 PM (IST).
