Manu Bhaker And Sarabjot Singh Wins Bronze Medal In 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team Event

India won their second bronze medal at the Paris Olympics 2024. Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh scripted history on Tuesday by clinching bronze medal in the 10m Air Pistol mixed team event. The pair secured the spot in the bronze-medal match after finishing third in the qualification round.

This will be Bhaker’s second medal after the 22-year-old opened India’s medal tally with a third-place finish in women’s 10m air pistol event.  The Indian duo edged South Korea’s Wonho Lee and Jin Ye Oh 16-10 to record India’s second medal of the game.

Manu has become the first Indian sportsmen to win two medals in the same Olympic Games edition in over 100 years of India’s participation in the event. Though many Olympic athletes including KD Jadhav, Major Dhyan Chand, Karnam Malleswari, Abhinav Bindra (first-ever individual gold medallist), Saina Nehwal, Sushil Kumar, PV Sindhu, Neeraj Chopra, brought glory to the nation, none of them could achieve the feat of winning multiple medals at a single Olympics. The 22-year-old has achieved a milestone in her second games.

Sarabjot Singh is the sixth shooter from India to win a medal at the Olympics while Manu became the fifth Indian shooter to win an Olympic medal. He missed out on gaining a spot in the finals of the men’s 10m air pistol event by a whisker, shot 97 in the second and third, after a 95 in the first.
