In the early hours of August 28, 2023, Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra made history. He became the first Indian to win gold in the history of the World Athletics Championships.
The Olympic gold medalist”s throw of 88.17 meters at the National Athletics Centre in Budapest, Hungary, brought glorious memories for Indian sports enthusiasts.
The 25-year-old Chopra is now the only Indian to have won gold medals at the Olympics (Tokyo 2021), Asian Games (2018), Commonwealth Games (2018), and U-20 World Championships (2016). He also has the Diamond League title from last year.
