Former India captain Virat Kohli arrived in Colombo to link up with the national squad ahead of the three-match One-Day International (ODI) series against Sri Lanka, starting on Friday.
Kohli had flown away to the United States of America (USA) for a short vacation with his family soon after Team India’s T20 World Cup 2024 triumph celebration in Mumbai. He was spotted in London attending a kirtan ceremony along with his wife and Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma.
The veteran India batter arrived in the Sri Lankan capital, a day after his compatriots, including captain Rohit Sharma, Shreyas Iyer, Kuldeep Yadav, and KL Rahul had reached the destination on Sunday.

As per a report in Cricbuzz, Team India will undergo their first training session for the ODI series on Monday. Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir had appointed his deputy Abhishek Nayar to oversee the training session. He left for Colombo from Pallekele on Monday after the Indian T20 squad sealed the series against Sri Lanka with one match to spare.
It is understood that the remaining members of the Team India squad will join Rohit Sharma & Co. in Colombo after the completion of the final T20I on Tuesday.
All the three-matches in the ODI series will be hosted at the R.Premadasa Stadium with the final game schedule to take place on August 7.
