South African legend Dale Steyn includes Indian pacer Muhammad Siraj among the pacers list to watch out in the upcoming World Cup 2023. The ICC World Cup matches will resume on October 5.

Steyn’s list also includes South African bowler Kasigo Rabada, Pakistan’s pace sensation Shaheen Shah Afridi, Australia’s left-arm pacer Mark Wood and New Zealand’s Trent Boult.

Muhammad Siraj listed in the pacers list, is now at his peak of his career after breaking a world record during the Asia Cup 2023 final match. Though he started the year lowly at 137th position in the ODI bowling ranking, his outstanding performance led him to top spot by the end of the year. Siraj’s pivotal role brought  Asia cup back to India after a wait of five years. Siraj in his best forms took six wickets for just 21 runs.

Soon after the match, Siraj reclaimed his number one spot in the ICC Men’s ODI bowling rankings. He was previously displaced by Australian bowler Josh Hazlewood.

And this is what Steyn said about Siraj in the video, “Swings the ball up front, knocks over big batters. Key player for India”.

And then he takes the name of Rabada, one of his favourite ballers, “South African big bounce, lots of pace, familiar with Indian condition.”

Then he shared the name of Pakistan left-arm pacer Afridi and warns the Indian captain Rohit Sharma to watch of his threat.

New Zealand left arm-pacer Boult was the fourth name on the list, “Boult swings the ball upfront for New Zealand, big wicket-taker,” he said.

“I think he is going to be the leading wicket-taker in this World Cup,” he added his prediction.

And the last one named was Mark Wood, “Mark Wood has extreme pace. I think he’s going to take a lot of wickets for England. His fear factor, his pace alone is going to give him tons of wickets,” he opined
