Apple Event 2025: Key Highlights You Shouldn’t Miss
Apple’s “Awe Dropping” 2025 event on Tuesday brought some of the biggest iPhone changes in years, alongside new AirPods, Apple Watches, and software updates.
This year, the focus was on thinner designs, powerful performance, health features, and sustainability. For Indian users, Apple also announced the official pricing for every new product, making it clear how much buyers will need to spend when the devices go on sale.

The biggest announcement was the launch of the iPhone Air, Apple’s thinnest iPhone yet. At just 5.6 millimetres thick and weighing 156 grams, it is lighter and sleeker than any previous iPhone.
Apple has placed it between the standard iPhone 17 and the Pro lineup, essentially replacing the older Plus models. The iPhone Air comes with a 6.5-inch ProMotion display, powered by the new A19 Pro chip, and features a single 48-megapixel rear camera capable of switching between four focal lengths.

It also introduces Apple’s first in-house N1 wireless networking chip and C1X cellular modem for faster performance. In India, the iPhone Air starts at ₹1,19,900 for the 256GB model, ₹1,39,900 for the 512GB version, and goes up to ₹1,59,900 for the 1TB option.

However, its ultra-thin body comes with compromises such as a smaller battery, the absence of a dual-camera system, and exclusive reliance on eSIM with no physical SIM slot.
Apple also gave a bold new look to its iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max models. The company has finally retired the bulky stove-top camera bump, replacing it with a new design called the “plateau” — a glass panel that stretches across the rear.
The Apple logo has been shifted slightly lower to align with the MagSafe coils. Another big change is the material: after years of titanium, the Pro models return to aluminium, which Apple says offers better heat management.
A vapour chamber cooling system has also been introduced for sustained performance during heavy use. In terms of Indian pricing, the iPhone 17 Pro begins at ₹1,34,900 for 256GB, ₹1,54,900 for 512GB, and ₹1,74,900 for 1TB.

The larger iPhone 17 Pro Max is priced at ₹1,49,900 for 256GB, ₹1,69,900 for 512GB, ₹1,89,900 for 1TB, and a massive ₹2,29,900 for the new 2TB storage variant.
The Pro Max can now deliver up to 39 hours of video playback, making it the longest-lasting iPhone to date. The upgraded rear camera system includes three 48-megapixel sensors, with the telephoto lens offering up to 8x optical zoom at 200mm and 4x zoom at 100mm, making it ideal for portraits and filmmaking.
The standard iPhone 17 also received a long-awaited upgrade: Apple has finally brought its 120Hz ProMotion display to the base model. The 6.3-inch panel is brighter, slimmer in bezels, and can reach a peak brightness of 3,000 nits.
The dual rear cameras now include a much-improved ultra-wide sensor that captures four times more detail, and the front camera has been upgraded to an 18-megapixel lens with Centre Stage support, automatically adjusting for group selfies and rotation between portrait and landscape.
The iPhone 17 is powered by the A19 chip, supports up to 30 hours of video playback, and begins with 256GB of storage. In India, the iPhone 17 is priced at ₹82,900 for the 256GB model and ₹1,02,900 for the 512GB version.
On the audio side, Apple introduced the AirPods Pro 3, which now include heart rate sensors that can track over 50 types of workouts, syncing seamlessly with iPhone health data.
Noise cancellation has been made four times stronger than the original AirPods Pro, and Apple has added a new feature called Workout Buddy for personalised coaching.
Perhaps the most eye-catching feature is real-time translation across five languages, turning the AirPods into a powerful travel companion.
The earbuds are also IP57 water-resistant, come with five ear tip sizes, including a new XXS option, and offer up to eight hours of playback with noise cancellation turned on. In India, the AirPods Pro 3 will be available from September 19 at a price of ₹25,900.
The Apple Watch lineup also saw big updates. The Apple Watch Series 11 puts health at the forefront with new hypertension notifications that use long-term heart data to warn users of high blood pressure risks.
It also introduces a new Sleep Score system, offering detailed insights into sleep quality. With scratch-resistant Ion-X glass, 5G connectivity, and up to 24 hours of battery life, the Series 11 is priced in India from ₹46,900. For adventurers, Apple announced the Apple Watch Ultra 3, which now includes satellite connectivity for emergency texts and location sharing when off-grid.
It also has the largest Apple Watch display ever, thinner bezels, and up to 72 hours of battery life in Low Power Mode. The Ultra 3 starts at ₹89,900 in India. On the affordable end, the Apple Watch SE 3 now features an Always-On display, improved durability, sleep apnea detection, and ovulation tracking. The SE 3 is priced at ₹25,900 in India.
Apple has also refreshed its accessories. The disappointing FineWoven cases are gone, replaced with TechWoven cases that are scratch- and stain-resistant and available in several colours, including black, blue, purple, sienna, and green.
The iPhone Air also gets ultra-thin protective cases designed to maintain its slim profile. For the first time, Apple has introduced official crossbody straps for iPhones, priced at $59, made from recycled yarn with magnets for adjustable length, and offered in 10 different colours.
Finally, Apple confirmed that its new software updates — iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe 26, and watchOS 26 — will all roll out on September 15, 2025.
The updates introduce a new “Liquid Glass” design language across the interface, bringing translucent and fluid visuals to iPhones, iPads, Macs, and Watches.
