Apple unveiled its most affordable version of the Apple Pencil on Wednesday, October 17. Priced at Rs 7,900, the new Apple Pencil pairs and charges with a USB-C cable and is also equipped with various features. The third-generation Apple Pencil will be available starting in early November.
The new Apple Pencil has a sliding cap design that reveals the USB-C port. Apple says that the new device is great for iPad (10th generation) users, and it also works with all iPad models that have a USB-C port. The iPad Pro, iPad Air, and iPad Mini are included in this list. However, the new Apple Pencil lacks certain features like pressure sensitivity, double-tap functionality for quick tool switching, and, moreover, wireless pairing and charging.
The new Apple Pencil works with iPadOS features like Quick Note, Scribble, and when collaborating with others in Freeform. It also supports hover, permitting users to sketch and illustrate with even greater precision when used with M2 versions of the iPad Pro. The third-generation Apple Pencil offers the same advanced pixel-perfect accuracy, low latency, and tilt sensitivity as the previous models. The design looks almost similar to the Apple Pencil (2nd Generation). When magnetically attached to the iPad for storage, the new Apple Pencil will automatically enter sleep mode to preserve power.
Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, said that the Apple Pencil has revolutionized note-taking, sketching, and illustration, and it delivers numerous possibilities for creativity and productivity. Bob Borchers also said that users can experience the magic of digital handwriting, annotation, and marking up documents with the new Apple Pencil.
