Google is reportedly rolling out a useful feature for users to track the air quality in their locality. Users can track the real-time air-quality data through the Air Quality Index (AQI) card in Discover. It will be available on both iOS and Android. This new feature comes amid reports that the overall air quality in the national capital has declined to “Very Poor” category.

Google Discover, which is a part of Google Search, shows users contents that are to their interests based on their web and app activity. 9to5Google reported that users will soon be able to see the new AQI card in the Discover tab. This feature is positioned on the left side of the Discover home screen. However, the report also says that the AQI card is currently not available on Android tablets and Google Pixel Fold.

Apart from this feature, Google has also made changes to the ‘Customise’ menu, replacing toggle switches with checkboxes. Google made these improvements in line with its Material You design. Material You is Google”s unified design language. Google unveiled the Material You design with Android 12. It is to be noted that the Discover tab currently consists of three mini-cards. This includes finance, sports, and weather. The finance tab includes the stock prices and market trends that the user follows. In the sports card, users can see the latest updates to the user”s favourite teams, and the weather card shows current weather conditions. The new AQI card will show the air quality level and also a color-coded dot that represents the air quality condition.
