Apple is facing back-to-back issues after the release of the iPhone 15 series and the iOS 17 update. Apple recently faced concerns regarding overheating problems to the new iPhone lineup. Now, several iPhone users have reported a “screen burn-in” issue on the 15 series. To address this issue, Apple is preparing to release the iOS 17.1 update.
Apple has already rolled out the release candidate for the iOS 17.1 update to beta testers and developers. It is the first major update for iOS 17 since its launch in September. The new update is expected to be released to everyone on October 24. iOS 17.1 will also reportedly fix a number of other bugs. Macrumors reported that there is a fix for an issue that could cause the iPhone keyboard to be less responsive, and it may also fix a bug to ringtones.
Screen burn-in is a faint, visible mark from an app, image, or text that stays on the screen no matter what is being displayed, and it is a common issue on OLED smartphones. 9To5Mac reported that, in addition to bug fixes, iOS 17.1 will also introduce new features. New AirDrop features and upgrades to Apple Music are reportedly the main highlights of this update. The AirDrop feature would include the ability to complete file transfers over the internet, even if the devices are not in close proximity to one another. Apple has also provided new filtering options in the Music app to display favourite songs and albums in the user library, reported 9To5Mac.
On October 4, Apple released iOS 17.0.3 to solve the overheating issues to the iPhone 15 Pro models. The Apple iPhone 15 series, which was unveiled on September 22, received several user complaints to the overheating of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone Pro Max. When these complaints surfaced, Apple made an official statement that there was a bug when updating iOS 17 on iPhones.
