Samsung is all set to host the highly anticipated first Galaxy Unpacked event of the year. The South Korean tech giant announced on Wednesday that they will host its first Galaxy Unpacked event in 2024 on January 17. The event will take place at the SAP Center in San Jose, United States. Samsung is expected to unveil the latest Galaxy S phones, likely to be called the Galaxy S24, during the event.

“Get ready to discover a new era full of possibilities with the latest Galaxy innovations, designed to transform how you live, connect and create,” wrote Samsung in its statement. The “Galaxy Unpacked 2024” event will begin at 11.30 p.m. IST (1.00 p.m. EST) on January 17 in San Jose. Notably, the event will also be live streamed across the company”s various channels, including YouTube. It is worth mentioning that the smartphone maker usually unveils its latest Galaxy S series in February. The smartphone maker also mentioned in its statement that the “new Galaxy S series will set a higher standard for the most intelligent mobile experience yet.”

At the same time, Samsung’s efforts in artificial intelligence will also be revealed at the event. In a teaser video, Samsung said that ‘Galaxy AI is coming.’ With the Galaxy AI, Samsung is focusing on remaining at the forefront of technological advancements. This also comes at a time when major smartphone brands are exploring ways to infuse mobile devices with generative AI.

The much-awaited Galaxy S24 series is expected to consist of three models. This includes the S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra. These devices will compete with the Apple iPhone 15 series and Google Pixel 8 series on the market. AI-powered features will be the main highlight of the Galaxy S24. Samsung may include the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor in the S24 lineup. However, there are also reports that the devices may include an Exynos 2400 SoC, depending on the region.
