Truecaller, the popular caller identification app, has unveiled an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered call recording feature in India. With this latest AI-powered feature, Truecaller users will be able to record incoming and outgoing calls directly within the app.

The AI-powered call recording feature will be available in the country for both iOS and Android users. The platform mentioned in its statement that the update offers a convenient and efficient way to capture and manage important conversations.

It is to be noted that AI call recording is a paid feature, and users can access it with a Truecaller Premium subscription. Truecaller claims that it is an advanced cloud-based recording that provides a high level of voice clarity. The company”s premium subscription starts at a monthly price of Rs. 75.

Truecaller is also offering a transcription feature that will deliver a full transcription of the recorded calls. According to the company, a user can record and transcribe all calls, in English and Hindi, from any caller. Truecaller mentioned in its statement that by leveraging AI technology, the platform empowers users to fully engage in their live conversation without the need to be concerned about taking detailed notes.

“The integration of AI into the newly launched call recording feature marks a significant leap forward, allowing for a detailed transcription of the entire phone call along with an AI-generated call summary,” added Truecaller in its statement. Rishit Jhunjhunwala, Managing Director of Truecaller India and Chief Product Officer of Truecaller, said that the company wants to provide greater control and flexibility to customers in managing their conversations.

At the same time, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) recently recommended that all access service providers must offer the Calling Name Presentation (CNAP) supplementary service, which will display the caller name on phones. This initiative is expected to address the issue of high volumes of spam calls.
