Viral Video: How To Beat Road Traffic In Himachal - This Man Found Solution

A video is going viral on social media in which a person is braving the Chandra River to reach his destination. Himachal Pradesh has reported an influx of more than 50,000 vehicles, with tourists flocking to celebrate festivals, causing massive traffic jams in most of the favorite tourist destinations in the state, including Manali and Shimla.

The video depicts a tourist navigating a Mahindra Thar SUV through the Chandra River in Lahaul Valley. Thankfully, the water level in the river was not high; otherwise, the drive could have been perilous. Widely circulated on social media, the video has garnered criticism from the locals.

News agency ANI has reported that the authorities have issued a challan after the video of driving a Thar in Chandra River of Lahaul and Spiti went viral on social media. “Recently, a video went viral in which a Thar is crossing the river Chandra in District Lahaul Spiti. The said vehicle has been challenged under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and to ensure that no one commits such an offence in the future, the district police have deployed police personnel at the said place,” the news agency has quoted SP Mayank Chaudhry as saying.

The region sees more tourists as many come with the hope of experiencing the snowfall and enjoying the enchanting landscape. The week-long winter carnival in the Himachal Pradesh, which was set to begin on December 25 and last until 31 is expected to lure more tourists to the spot.

According to the Himachal administration, they are expecting more than 1lakh more vehicles expected to enter the state in this week to celebrate new year, Chief Minister of the hill state, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, has said that the state is managing it well.

It wasn”t just Himachal, entry points to many hill areas in the country, including Kudagu in Karnataka and Ootty in Tamil Nadu have also witnessed kilometers of traffic snarls.
