Yanbu City is considered as the second largest port city on the Red Sea and one of the oldest seaports. The history of the city traces back to the 16th century, gives home to unique architectural marvels and charming sandy beaches. Situated in the north of Jiddah, historically, Yanbu holds significance as a major port for receiving pilgrims. Thus, the economy of the city and its growth associated with pilgrimage route, trade, and export of dates.
The city is also known for most untouched coral reefs, underwater adventure, and rich maritime heritage. Along with water sports activities like scuba diving adventures, horse riding is popular in the area.

Yanbu is divided into three distinct regions; Yanbu Al-Bahr, Yanbu Al-Nakhl (The Palms), and Yanbu Al-Sina’iya (the industrial Yanbu). Though the city is known for the industrial locations, Yanbu Al-Bahr Beach also known as the Royal Commission Beach is a great spot to spend time.
Combining sustainability with cultural heritage, under the helms of The Baheej Tourism Development company, Saudi Arabia unveiled its first major tourist destination in Yanbu City. The ambitious project in line with ‘Vision 2030’ aims provide eco-friendly tourism experience. Spanning across 32,000 square meters, the city project will focus on three main features: a beach retreat, a lifestyle hotel, and a tourist activation centre.

Yanbu Waterfront is a new project started on the coastline of Yanbu Industrial City and Tourism ministry revamped the old house of T.E.Lawrence, who is also known as Lawrence of Arabia.
