4.3 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Saudi Arabia; No Damage Recorded
The Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia experienced a moderate earthquake, with no reported damage to people or property so far. The overall impact of the tremor was minimal and could be picked up by the sensitive regional monitoring equipment.
The epicentre of the earthquake lies in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province, in a region near the Arabian Gulf. As per the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) of the UAE and seismic data from Saudi authorities, the tremor was recorded at 2:11 am (UAE time) at a depth of nearly 50 kilometers beneath the surface.
The Saudi Geological Survey (SGS) and regional weather centres confirm that no injuries have been reported, with no structural damage to infrastructure. Neighbouring countries such as the UAE also remained completely unaffected.

Saudi Arabia Earthquake in 2025
Past earthquakes of similar strengths, including a 4.o magnitude, have been detected offshore near Jubail earlier without causing any harm. In April 2025, a 4.0 magnitude quake struck 55 km east of Jabali.
In July 2025, a stronger 5.1 magnitude tremor was felt near the Farasan Islands in the south.
In October 2025, a 4.34 magnitude quake hit the Arabian Gulf, northeast of Khafji.
In December 2025 earthquake is fourth in the series of frequent earthquakes in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Reason behind the frequent earthquakes in the Kingdom
Notably, Saudi Arabia is not commonly a hotbed of seismic activity; the Arabian Plate and adjacent fault systems are geologically active, making the smaller tremors a routine scientific observation.
Experts suggest that the slow movement of tectonic plates, as the Arabian Plate pushes against neighboring plates like the Eurasian Plate is causing such events.
