
5 Israeli Soldiers Killed,14 Injured In Resistance Ambush In Northern Gaza Operation
Gaza: At least five soldiers from the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) were killed, and over 14 others wounded when the infantry were hit by a bomb planted on the side of a road shortly after 10 p.m. on Monday, the IDF announced on Tuesday.
The attack took place during Israeli soldiers’ ground operations in Beit Hanoun. The Netzah Yehuda soldiers were operating under the Gaza Division’s Northern Brigade, as part of an offensive with the 646th Reserve Paratroopers Brigade in Beit Hanoun.

Hamas also attacked the Israeli soldiers when engaging in rescue efforts, as the group started to fire at the settler forces. Among those injured, two are listed in serious condition.
Two soldiers who lost their lives in the attack have been identified as Staff Sgt. Meir Shimon Amar, 20, from Jerusalem and Staff Sgt. Meir Shimon Amar, 20, was from Jerusalem, and both were serving with the Kfir Brigade’s Netzah Yehuda Battalion. The IDF is yet to release the names and details of other slain soldiers.

According to the Israeli military, the brigade targeted the area where the attack occurred from the air ahead of the troops’ operation.
The ambush were reportedly a well-planned operation. While the first explosive targeted a tank, the second hit a rescue team, and the third struck an additional rescue unit. Another explosive device, along with gunfire, targeted those wounded at the start of the attack, according to a report by Quds News Network, an independent Palestinian youth news network.
