As Israel continue to pummel Gaza with the most heinous and bestial means of war, a video was released by the Israelis. It was released by the Hostages and Missing Families Forum. The video released on Wednesday showed five female Israeli soldiers being tortured by whom the video claimed to be Hamas members.

It was a bodycam footage which the western media reported to be Hamas gunmen. The footage showed several men bearing gun. It also featured five women who appeared to be smeared in blood. As per Israeli media report, the young women are Israeli soldiers who were abducted by Hamas, the resistance group of Gaza. They were reported to be kidnapped from Nahal Oz base situated outside the Gaza Strip.

New York Post reported that the video was captured on October 7th last year, when Hamas attacked Tel Aviv, killing around 1000 and taking 229 Israelis as hostages. All the captives appeared to be in their pajamas, as the base was attacked on early in the morning. The Forum claimed that the parents of the soldiers decided to release the video in order to pressure the Israeli government to take measures and engage in advance negotiations that could bring the hostages back home.

It is significant to note that Israelis are alleged to have a knack for orchestrating gruesome lies. Like every other videos and “harrowing” stories narrated by the Israeli soldiers, organizations and resonated by western media, this footage too lacks authentic verification or confirmation. The theories of Hamas using systematic sexual assault as a weapon on October 7th has long been debunked. New York Times, which once published series of stories on the claim, later had to walk back saying that the “story is false”, due to its inability to provide credible proof on the allegations.

The new video was released as Palestine is being recognised as a state by the West and pro-Palestine sentiments are augmenting in record speed, the predominant cause for which is Israel”s barbarous conduct of war on Gaza. Norway, Ireland and Spain announced that they will recognise Palestinian as an independent state. Though most of the Western countries have maintained they will formally recognise Palestinian statehood only at the end of a peace process with Israel, the above mentioned countries said that they won’t wait any longer, as the war bloody has passed seven months.

Hamas, the resistance group of Gaza, said that the video has been “manipulated”. The movement accused Tel Aviv of altering the video. Hamas said that the video was “manipulated and the authenticity of what it contained cannot be confirmed”. It said the clip was part of Israel”s promotion of “fabricated narratives”.

Hamas has claimed earlier that they treat the hostages strictly on the basis of the ethics of their. It again highlighted that no mistreatment of the soldiers in the unit was proven. In a statement released, the resistance group said, “The circulation of this clip at this particular time is part of the occupation”s failed attempts to tarnish the image of our brave people”s Resistance by spreading fabricated stories that have been proven false by various media investigations and forums”, as quoted by media. The group also said that the video underwent deliberate editing and fragmentation, with selected images and clips chosen to support Israel”s claims and lies about the assault on the female soldiers.

When Israel keeps preaching about being the most just and moral army in the whole world, just a tiny bit of close inspection may leave the onlookers question where their sense of perceiving lies. It does not take two and two to connect what happens to whom by seeing the condition of the hostages released by the both sides.

When the Israelis taken as hostages bid goodbye to Hamas by hugging and waving with smiles on their faces, the Palestinians who are mostly imprisoned unjustly, are often seen limping and with faces and body bloodied to black and blue.
