While the world has started to witness an unprecedented polarisation in the equation of Israel – Palestine war, where majority of the population started doing a double take on where they stand in the war and what they have been fed by the media, and a weighty slanting towards the support for Palestinians, the ‘condemnation’ on the inactions from the Arab leaders are widely on the table now.
Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al Sudais: Understanding Sheikh Sudais
Arab leaders have been doing summits to ‘discuss’ about the deteriorating situations in Gaza and has been “strongly condemning” the Israel occupation force’s bombing on the innocent civilians of Gaza.
Now, the head of the religious affairs at grand mosque in Mecca, Sheikh Abdul Rahman AL-Sudais says that apart from praying for them, Muslims “should not let these temptations and events divide them” but rather let the scholars and leaders decide on what should be done about the situations and “not to engage in what they have no right to engage in”.
He asked, “to our brothers in Palestine, what should we do towards them? Apart from praying for them?”.

Sheikh Sudais is one of the senior religious leader in Saudi Arabia. Apart from being the Imam (leader) of the Grand Mosque of Mecca, he is also president of the General Presidency for the affairs of the Two Holy Mosques of Saudi Arabia.
Earlier, the Imam has garnered criticism for advocating the normalisation between Israel and Saudi Arabia by calling out to the Islamic community to “correct and purify the Islamic faith from false and suspicious beliefs”, as quoted by Muslim Mirror.
During his visit to United States in 2017, Mr. Sudais also claimed that “Donald Trump, the US and the Saudi Arabia are steering the world to peace”.
