Gaza Hospital Blast: PM Modi Says Those Involved Must Be Held Responsible

Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the deadly blast at a hospital in Gaza on Wednesday and said “those involved should be held responsible”. According to the Palestinian health ministry, at least 500 people were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a Gaza hospital.

“Deeply shocked at the tragic loss of lives at the Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza. Our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, and prayers for speedy recovery of those injured,” PM Modi wrote on X, formerly Twitter. PM Modi also added that the civilian casualties in the ongoing conflict are a matter of serious concern, and those involved in this attack should be held responsible. Earlier, US President Joe Biden said he was outraged and deeply saddened by the explosion at the hospital in Gaza. Joe Biden also added that he had given instructions to his national security team to collect information about the attack. At the same time, President Joe Biden has landed in Israel as the conflict has escalated.

While Hamas claimed that the blast was caused by an Israeli rocket, Israeli officials said that the blast was caused by a rocket from Hamas itself. The tragic incident sparked severe protests in several parts of the world, especially in Arab nations. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas called this attack a “hideous war massacre” that cannot be tolerated. United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres said that he is “horrified” by the killings of Palestinian civilians. The conflict between Palestine and Israel entered its 12th day, and Palestinians are facing severe humanitarian crisis.
