The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been ranked among the world’s safest nations, according to the latest survey. As per the 2025 Safety Index by Numbeo, the country achieved an impressive safety index score of 84.5. Andorra claimed the top spot with a score of 84.7. Meanwhile, the UAE’s neighboring country, Qatar, secured third place, followed by Taiwan in fourth.

While examining the top ranks, it is highlighted that GCC countries dominated the top spots. Oman has joined Qatar by being the fifth safest country in the world. Moreover, the UAE was ranked as the country with the second-lowest crime rate in the 2025 Crime Index by Numbeo. Taiwan took the fourth spot. Saudi Arabia was named the 14th safest country in the world, with Bahrain also making the top 20, ranking 16.

The UAE was ranked the second safest country due to its strict laws regarding crime, drug use, and public behavior, with severe penalties for violations. These acts as a deterrent to criminal activities. Law enforcement is highly efficient, with a strong police presence and a well-equipped security infrastructure.

Notably, the country is also well-equipped with extensive surveillance, particularly in cities including Dubai and Abu Dhabi. A strong economy and high standard of living have also reduced incentives for crime. Compared to many other global destinations, tourists have frequently reported the UAE to be the safest country.
