
Sharjah Airport To Receive Over 500,000 Passengers During Eid Holidays
In the Sharjah emirate of the United Arab Emirates, authorities have announced that its international airport is ready to receive over 500,000 passengers and handle 3,344 flights from March 27 onwards. The airport authority has confirmed that all operational and logistical preparations have been completed in coordination with key partners and authorities.
The surge in passenger traffic is expected to continue until April 6, coinciding with the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays. Therefore, airport authorities have requested all passengers arriving at the airport to reach at least three hours before their scheduled departure to allow ample time for completing travel procedures.

To facilitate a smoother process, special attention has been given to providing dedicated services for senior citizens, children, and people of determination. Additionally, passengers are encouraged to use smart check-in technologies for faster processing.
Meanwhile, the Sharjah Airport Authority has developed a comprehensive operational plan aimed at enhancing the efficiency of operations during peak travel periods. The plan includes deploying sufficient human resources across all work areas, with a particular focus on strengthening customer service teams to provide immediate support and assistance to passengers. Furthermore, authorities have announced that all facilities and supporting services have been fully prepared to ensure a smooth and seamless experience, reinforcing the airport’s position as a leading aviation hub.
Last year, Sharjah Airport welcomed over 17.1 million passengers, marking an impressive 11.4% increase compared to 15,356,212 passengers in 2023. The total number of flights also rose to 107,760, representing a 9.5% growth compared to 98,433 flights in 2023.

Last week, all airports in the UAE revealed that they expect to witness a surge in traveler volumes arriving in and departing from Dubai during the Eid-ul-Fitr holiday. The peak period for departures from Terminal 3 is projected to occur on March 28 and 29, as well as April 5 and 6. During these days, more than 800,000 customers are anticipated to travel abroad for their spring break holidays.
