The assassination of Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh in the Iran capital Tehran has wounded Iran. The humiliation caused by the attack is beyond explanation for Tehran, as Haniyeh was assassinated at one of the well-protected building in the country. Western media claim that Haniyeh was killed by a bomb that has been hidden inside the room approximately three months back. Though Israel did not claim responsibility for the attack, Iran and Hamas accuse Tel Aviv of the “treacherous Zion” attack.

Israel claimed responsibility of killing Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukur, who was assassinated hour before Haniyeh was assassinated.

Enraged Iran vowed to retaliate strongly. The entire West Asia is fearing a full-fledged war.

Reportedly, Iran has purchased the ultra-long-ranged electronic warfare system named Murmansk-BN from Russia. The system is deployed with a 5,000 kms in the country.

The Murmansk-BN system have a range of 5,000 kms, which makes the Russian manufactured system one of the most powerful in the world. it was originally built to counter NATO, and can disrupt military satellite communications. Social media accounts believed to be based in Russia and Tehran has claimed that multiple Murmansk-BN have been deployed in Iran.

According to New York Times, Iran has requested advanced air defence system from Russia, who is believed to be delivering Tehran with munitions.

The theory was further bolstered by a seemingly routine flight landing in Tehran. Gelix Airlines’ Ilyushin IL-76TD, designated as GLX9810, touched down at Imam Khomeini International Airport after departing from Moscow’s Vnukovo International Airport on August 2, this year.

Data from various flight trackers confirmed this information. However, the content of and purpose of the cargo, which is known for its military logistics, is yet to be confirmed.

However, the flight tracker only showed one such arrival. Several trackers refused to share information, claiming that “due to government restrictions”, information cannot be revealed, or it shows “no data available”,

In another development, Sergei Shoigu, who now leads Moscow’s Security Council, has touched down in Tehran on Monday, claims media report. This made West raise eyebrow, as the reports further fuel the wild running speculations on Russia’s hand behind Iranian missiles aimed at their closes ally in the region, Israel.

It is reported that Shoigu met with his Iranian counter part Ali Akbar Ahmadian, though details of their meeting have been kept under tight wraps.

Iranian media reportedly quoted Shoigu as saying in his meeting with Baqeri that Russia “is ready for comprehensive cooperation with Iran in the region.” On his part, the top Iranian military commander described ties as “strategic,” indicating a systemic decision to expand the partnership.

Notably, the Russian minister’s visit came on the same day as head of US Central Command (CENTCOM), Michael Kurilla arrived in Tel Aviv for talks with military figures.

West is also anticipating the attack from Iran. Intelligence suggest that both Iran and its proxy team Hezbollah in Lebanon will launch two separate waves of attacks. However, the timing and specifics of these attacks remain unclear.

Earlier today, US President Joe Biden said they had a discussion in the Situation Room on the developments in the region, and added that they also had talks on preparations to support Israel should it be attacked again.
