Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer is working on a potential collaboration with Saudi Arabia for a new interpretation of the Kingdom’s national anthem, announced Turki Al Sheikh, General Entertainment Authority.
In an X post on Monday, Al Sheikh announced his meeting with Zimmer in Riyadh during the Joy Awards to discuss a bunch of projects.

Calling the composer “one of the greatest musicians of our time,” Al Sheikh shared that they had shared several future projects, including “redistributing the Saudi national anthem with different instruments.”
He also spoke of a potential large-scale concert by the German composer that is expected to take place during the Riyadh Season, the winter festival featuring musical acts, boxing matches, and pavilions showcasing the culture and craft of different countries.

A 12-time Oscar nominee, Hans Zimmer won the renowned award for The Lion King and Dune. Recently, Zimmer performed at Dubai Opera alongside the Limitless Orchestra.

The renowned composer, known for his works in Interstellar, The Dark Knight, Inception, Gladiator, and more, shared his interest in blending cultures, particularly in the Middle East.
“If we look back, so many of the contributors to early film were refugees from Nazi Germany or European immigrants more broadly. Cultures collided, and that brought something special,” Zimmer told The National.
