Israel is losing its face value it had among its close allies. The genocide committed by the Israeli occupation on Palestinians has started raising serious questions on the morale of the Israelis. After the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) decided to keep calling for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire, pressure on Israel has doubled. Even America, the biggest ally of Israel has warned Netanyahu and his government about losing international support due to the “indiscriminate bombing” on the besieged enclave of Gaza Strip.
Australia, Canada and New Zealand and some of other allies of Israel has issued a rare joint statement citing the alarming increase of “diminishing safe space for civilians in Gaza” and called for an end to the Israeli hostilities in the region. The joint statement read that “the price of defeating Hamas cannot be the continuous suffering of all Palestinian civilians”.
While continuing to support Israel, US has shown their disagreement in Netanyahu and his approach towards the Palestinian civilians. Biden, who once called Netanyahu his closest ally, now said that Netanyahu “has to change this government”. He said Netanyahu is making it difficult to Israel as they are already losing its face value on global front. Netanyahu said Israel have “disagreement” with who will Gaza rule after the occupation force eliminate Hamas resistance group.
Though refused to back down from their stance on “Israel has right to defend itself”, the Biden Administration has started to pronounce their impatience publicly. Staying steady in its support for Israel, the concern over the killing of innocent civilians including children also started to increase steadily.
Recently, Lloyd Austin, the Defence Secretary of US, has warned Israel of what is at stake for them and said, “in this kind of a fight, the centre of gravity is the civilian population. And if you drive them into the arms of the enemy, you replace the tactical victory with s strategic defeat”, as quoted by France24.
The situation in Palestine, especially Gaza is beyond any words of description. Israel has leveled down almost all of the Gaza neighborhood to ashes. To add to the already raging humanitarian crisis, heavy rain and approaching winter has made the situation worse than anything.
