IRGC Seizes 2 Vessels In The Strait Of Hormuz; One India-Bound Ship Being Taken To Iran

Tehran, Iran: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has seized two ships while attempting to the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday. The Iranian army captured the ship for allegedly manipulating the navigation systems and endangering safety in the strait.

The ships are being taken to Iran, according to the Iranian state media. The two vessels are: MSC-FRANCESCA and EPAMINONDES. EPAMINONDES as per the Marinetraffic website, is a container ship sailing under the flag of Liberia and was heading to Gujarat from Jebel Ali in Dubai.

In a statement, the IRGC Navy said that two violating ships, MSC-FRANCESCA, which is linked to Zionist regime and EPAMINODES, which endangered maritime security by operating without the necessary permits and tampering with navigation systems, were seized.

The Navy further pointed out that the ships were being directed to the coast of Iran. “Disruption of order and safety in the Strait of Hormuz is our red line,” the Iranian Navy added.
