While the world is preparing for Christmas, Bethlehem and Jerusalem are under the violent aggression of the Israeli occupation force. Bethlehem pastor, Munther Isaac, of the Christmas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bethlehem said that “if Jesus were to be born today, he would be born under the rubble in Gaza”. He called for the genocide to stop immediately. Earlier, the churches across Palestine declared cancellation of Christmas festivities as a gesture to pronounce solidarity with Gaza

As the protest against the Israeli genocidal bombing against Palestinians is increasing, American President Joe Biden said he “did not ask for a ceasefire” in Gaza during a “private” call with Benjamin Netanyahu.  While talking to reporters, Biden said he had a long talk with Netanyahu and “it was a private conversation”. Later in a statement. White House said the two leaders discussed about the “objectives and phasing” of Israeli military campaign in Gaza. The American President is now at Camp David for the Christmas weekend.

Israel is tightening the raids on Bethlehem, Nablus, Hebron and Tulkarem in the occupied West bank. Media report said around 40 Israeli military vehicles entered the region and tore up main water line , and streets. There were also reports of fierce clash between Palestinian resistant fighters and the occupation force from West Bank.

Meanwhile, famous philosopher and political activist, Cornel West, welcomes South Africa’s referral of Israel to the International Criminal Court. He praised South Africa’s leadership and said, “this is the kind of leadership sorely missing in the US with the current administration”. He further added that “people of the global majority and conscience will never turn a blind eye to the suffering, subjugation, and illegal occupation of Palestine”.
