The condition of Gaza was not the least good, the only relief was almost 31 children and 6 health workers were successfully evacuated from the Strip’s major hospital, Al Shifa on Sunday, in a joint United Nation’s mission. The war is approaching its third month and Israel continues bombarding, irrespective of schools, refugee camps, UN shelters, and medical facilities. “No one and nowhere is safe in Gaza”, said the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) in an official statement.
The UNRWA explained on X (formerly Twitter) that, even though the shelters are meant to provide protection and safety to the civilians who are affected by the war, those temporary constructions had been hit several times by the Israeli army. Many people in the shelter camps, including children, lost their lives in the continuing strikes and bombardments. “These acts not only blatantly contravene the rules of war, they also show a total disregard for humanity”, said UNRWA.
As said by the relief agency, 85 incidents have impacted 67 UNRWA installation till November 18. Among these, 17 were directly hit. So far, the Israeli Defence Forces had led five incursions into the UNRWA installations. The agency also verifies that over the half of the impacted installations were south of Wadi Gaza, and recorded 104 deaths of its aid workers, who had been killed in the conflict. And among them also, at least half have been killed south of Wadi Gaza.

The UNRWA holds nearly 900,000 displaced civilians in their shelter facilities across the Gaza Strip and it was six times more than what the agency had planned for even under the worst-case scenario. “This is the reality of the conflict. People in Gaza have got nowhere to go”, said the Director of UNRWA Affairs in Gaza. He is working with and for the Palestinian refugees. He was speaking in an interview by the ABC news and stated that the people of Gaza have got “nowhere to go for safety and are all exposed to the threat of fighting and particularly strikes.
I am deeply shocked that 2 @UNRWA schools were struck in less than 24 hours in Gaza.
Dozens of people – many women & children – were killed & injured as they were seeking safety in @UN premises.
I reaffirm that our premises are inviolable.

The organisation slammed Tel Aviv and stated that the large number of UNRWA facilities hit and the number of civilians killed by the Israel cannot be considered as a “collateral damage”. “This vicious war is reaching a point of no return when all rules are disrespected, in overt disregard for civilian lives. These acts not only blatantly contravene the rules of war, they also show a total disregard for humanity”, they said on X.
