Seeking to enhance the national labour market and to assist Saudi”s private sectors with financial support, Saudi Arabia has increased the minimum wage of its citizen”s working in private sector from 3,200 riyals to 4,000 riyals with effect from today September 5 onwards.
The announcement was made by Human Resources Development Fund (HADAF) of Ministry of Labour and Social Development of Saudi Arabia.
Saudi has also terminated the grace period required for submitting request for social insurance. Private sector companies may apply to receive salary support for the employees after 90 days of work registered.

The company will have to pay during the first 90 days of the work. From day 91 to 180, after employees registration, companies will get support from HADAF for the salary payment. However HADAF has also made clear that no support request submitted after 180 days of employees registration will be accepted.
The arrangement was to buttress the sustainability country”s national labour market.
