A video of a finger-ring of the Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi who died in the tragic helicopter crash on Sunday has been going viral on social media. The ring reportedly gifted by the country”s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khomeini helped the rescuers identify the president”s dead body.
Notably, in 2020, when the Iranian Revolutionary Guards commander General Qasem Soleimani was killed in a targeted drone strike carried out by the United States at Baghdad International Airport, his body too was recognised through a red ring he had worn.
The media had showed the close-up image of the prominent red ring in the hand of the Revolutionary Guards commander General during the identification. The strike had broken his body into pieces, making it difficult to identify. The ring had grabbed headlines then when it helped identify the late Qasem Soleimani”s body.
However, the body of Ebrahim Raisi was also identified with the help of the ring gifted by Khomeini, the country”s supreme leader and leader of Iranian revolution that helped to established Islamic Republic in the West Asian country. With the discovery of the ring, it was confirmed that the Iranian leader was no longer. The moment the ring was found, the video shows the rescue workers start engaging in chanting spiritual verses.

The helicopter crash, in addition to the president, killed the Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and some other top officials. All were travelling in the old-model BELL 212 helicopter and the copter failed to navigate through the dense fog in the mountainous region of Jolfa in northwestern Iran.
However, Iran has ordered a high-ranking committee to launch an investigation into the cause of the president”s helicopter crash, and the probe is going on.
