UAE Says It Arrested Members Of Iran-Linked Group Planning Systematic Sabotage Acts
Abu Dhabi, UAE: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has arrested terror cell members linked to Iranian ideology, and the authorities in the Emirates have accused the group of plotting “systematic terrorist and sabotage acts.”
The gulf nation’s State Security Service said that it detained the members of a cell linked to Iran’s Velayat-e Faqih (“Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist”) – a doctrine underlying Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution and fealty to the supreme religious leader. Last month, the UAE had claimed that it arrested at least five members of a “terrorist network” linked to Iran and Lebanese militant group Hezbollah.

According to the authorities, the accused persons have been charged with establishing and operating a secret organisation, running it from the UAE, pledging allegiance to foreign entities, and harming national unity and social peace.
The official claimed that the group had collected funds and transferred them to suspicious foreign entities, and had adopted extremist terrorist ideologies and ideas. The group has also been accused of carrying out covert recruitment and indoctrination operations and holding meetings inside and outside the country.

Since the US and Israel launched war against Iran, Tehran has repeatedly targeted the UAE and other neighbouring countries which hosts US military assets. The UAE has faced more Iranian attack than any other country in the gulf. The attacks inflicted damage upon the image of the UAE as being the safe heaven for business in the world.
