As the tension between Israel and Iran rises, the United States is preparing for the evacuation of its embassy in the Middle East region. According to a Al Jazeera report, the US had authorised “the voluntary departure” of dependents of their personnel from locations including Bahrain, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as concern regarding regional security rises.
The CENTCOM, US Central Command, on Wednesday said that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth had authorised the departure of military dependents in the region and they are actively monitoring the developing tension.

The Department of State had also ordered the evacuation of all non-essential staff to depart the US embassy in Baghdad, which was already on limited staffing, based on the commitment it stated to be “to keep Americans safe, both at home and abroad.”
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump had also ordered the staff to move out because the “region could be a dangerous place.” “We’ll see what happens. We’ve given notice to move out, and we’ll see what happens,” Trump said.
While addressing Iran, the US had said that they can’t have “nuclear power and we are not going to allow that.”
Iran had earlier warned the US against any military action on the country and warned of retaliatory measures. Ever since the talks between the two nations over the nuclear programme had appeared to be uncertain, it seems to have hit an impasse.
As per the CBS report, US officials are also informed that Israel is “fully ready” to attack Iran and that Washington “anticipates” that Tehran could be targeting “certain American sites in neighbouring Iraq.”
Moreover, according to Al Jazeera, Donald Trump had expressed his concern over not being able to make a deal with Tehran and thus had decided to move out the non-essential staff from the embassy. “Clearly, there is some concern that the discussions with the Iranians aren’t going well. Or, it could be that this is all designed to put pressure on Iranians. Because, you will remember, that Donald Trump said that if they couldn’t get some sort of deal, then … there could be some sort of military action against the Iranians,” said Al Jazeera’s Alan Fisher.
In response to the rising tension, Iran’s mission to the United Nations posted on X, “Iran is not seeking a nuclear weapon, and US militarism only fuels instability. Threats of ‘overwhelming force’ won’t change the facts”.
“Diplomacy – not militarism – is the only path forward,” it added.

“If conflict is imposed on us, the opponent’s casualties will certainly be more than ours, and in that case, America must leave the region, because all its bases are within our reach,” said Iranian Defence Minister General Aziz Nasirzadeh.
The next round of talks between both nations is scheduled to be held next week in Oman in exchange for lifting sanctions on the country.
