Fuel Conserving Measure: Bangladesh Shuts Down Universities Amid Energy Crisis Over Iran-US-Israel Conflict
Dhaka, Bangladesh: As key energy facilities across the gulf regions are being hit by the US-Israel-Iran attacks, Bangladesh on Monday, March 9, announced the closure of all universities in the country.
The decision aims to conserve fuel as part of the emergency measures amid worsening energy crises following the rising impacts on key oil and energy facilities in West Asia, news agency Reuters reported.
The shutdown, aimed at reducing fuel consumption, applies to both public and private universities. The moves come amid uncertainty over the country’s fuel and gas supply from West Asia.
Due to the conflict and the increasing targeting of the energy sector by the US-Israeli attacks and subsequently by Iran, the global energy supply has been disrupted.
