Heavy Casualties Feared As Flash Flood Washes Away Villages, Roads And Bridges In Nepal

Rasuwa, Nepal: A massive flash flood has swept away several villages, roads and bridges in northern Nepal after the Bhote Koshi River surged through the region amid heavy rains.

The flash flood has devastated  parts of Rasuwa district near the Tibet border and damaging homes, vehicles, bridges and infrastructure projects. The sudden The flash flood happened at around 9 am local time.

According to the authorities, the floodwaters appeared to have entered from the direction of Tibet. The worst-hit areas include the border settlements of Timure and Syabrubesi.

Vehicles and other goods in the Timure market and the customs area of the Rasuwa border checkpoint have been swept away by the rapid flow of the flood. There are also reports of damage to several hydropower projects and settlements.
