On Live, Iranian State Media Press TV Female Reporter Assaulted In New York: Victim Rachel Hamdoun Claims attacker "Pro-Israeli"

United States: While covering President Donald Trump’s inauguration in New York, Rachel Hamdoun, a correspondent of Iran state media Press TV, was attacked allegedly by an Israeli supporter. During the live telecast, the correspondent said a group of pro-Israeli people were trying to stop the crowd and pro-Palestinian protesters. As she was about to speak in front of the camera, a sharp object hit her back, and she suffered serious injury. “I was in extreme pain,” the journalist said.

The correspondent, describing the ordeal on Press TV, recalled that the pro-Israeli groups were harassing protesters. When she suffered the attack, the protesters rushed to her asking if she wanted water.

The journalist accused the police of trying to implicate her, instead of assuaging her bad experience. “When I was suffering the pain, multiple police officers came to me and asked  if I was fine. When I said no and was feeling sad then they started questioning me aggressively,” Hamdoun, said, alleging that the police looked at her as a suspect.

“They asked her name and address, and they were trying to implicate her by questioning, “Are you sure you were hit?”

During the inaugural occasion, protesters marched in Manhattan opposing various policies. There were also protesters demanding an end to US aid to Israel and the creation of an independent Palestinian state.

There were also protesters against Trump’s anti-immigration rhetoric as he had declared a national emergency on the US-Mexico border, asserting to aggressively crackdown immigration.
