Tamil actor Rajinikanth met Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on Tuesday. The video circulating on social media shows Rajinikanth greeting the Prime Minister with a Namaste and shaking hands with him.

In the video, both of them are seen laughing and exchanging talks, but Mr Ibrahim trying to imitate Rajinikanth”s popular gesture from the film, ‘Sivaji: The Boss’, popularly referred to as the ‘Motta Boss’ gesture, remains the highlight of the meeting.

The PM also shared a few glimpses from their meeting on X (formerly Twitter).

“Today I received a visit from the Indian film star, Rajinikanth, who is a familiar name on the Asian and international art world stage”, wrote the PM on X.

“I appreciate the respect he gave to my struggle especially regarding the issue of misery and suffering of the people”, he added.

According to Mr Ibrahim, he engaged in talks with Mr Rajinikanth about social elements which the actor could include in his films in the future, along with other topics.

“Among the things that were casually discussed were certainly to the social elements that I strive to include in his films in the future”, the PM wrote.

He also extended wishes and prayers to Rajinikanth, “to continue to excel in the field and the film world”.

 Rajinikanth has a huge fan base in Malaysia due to the presence of Tamil diaspora. The majority of the Malaysian Indian population were from Indian Tamil ethnic groups from Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka, says reports.

His recent film Jailer has collected around Rs 21 crores from Malaysia in the first week of its release, reports Times of India.

The actor has recently announced his new project Thalaivar 171 with director Lokesh Kanakaraj.
