As the flood of tributes have been pouring in, Malayalam acting legend Mohanlal expressed his respect and condolence to the demise of renowned author MT Vasudevan Nair. Calling the relationship with the legendary writer a father-like bond, the actor said his mind is now “lonely like after a rain.”
Talking about the towering literature figure, the iconic Malayalam actor said, “From the books I read voraciously, from the scripts I read again and again after enacting it, from the characters that stayed in my heart even after leaving the stage… my MT Sir is gone.” Mohanlal then noted that the father-like MT who poured peace and love into my heart like no one else can give has gone back.

“MT Sir… I can’t even tell who it was for me. Even if I say he was everything, it will be less. Like Rasheed in Panchagni, Satyanath in Sadayam, will there be any more luck than being able to give life to the characters created in that epic mind?. Can I get any more satisfaction than acting the lines after the readers’ eyes were teary when they were reading it?,” the veteran actor lamented.
Grieving how can he pay his respect to the multi-talented and beloved MT sir who put the pride of Malayalam on the pedestal, the actor added that “with pain, with prayers.”

At an event in 2023, Mohanlal has revealed that he acted in around 12 movies scripted by Vasudevan Nair, and added that his movie Amrutham Gamaya (1987) was partially directed by MT as the original maker Hariharan was not present on the sets for some days.
Reflecting his unflinching perspectives and strong stand that he stood by throughout his life, the actor recalled that it was possible to change the dialogue in any movie but not in MT’s, noting that the dialogue played a crucial role in all his works.
