Hyundai Ioniq 6 N Performance EV Revealed, Most Powerful Iteration

Prior to its July 2025 worldwide premiere, Hyundai has formally teased the Ioniq 6 N all-electric performance sedan. The full-fledged N model was concealed in the backdrop of one shot during the recent reveal of the facelifted Ioniq 6 and its N Line variation. The official unveiling of the Ioniq 6 N is planned for July 2025, potentially during the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year.

The Ioniq 6 N’s distinctive Performance Blue paint, made popular by Hyundai’s N models, makes the performance EV instantly recognisable even though the image only partially displays its back end. In addition, the Ioniq 6 N has two rear spoilers: a bigger wing placed just beneath the windshield and a ducktail that extends from the boot. The N emblem is prominently displayed on the blacked-out tailgate.

Like other N models, the rear bumper features red accents and a large diffuser that appears to be modeled after Hyundai’s race-inspired RN22e concept car. Although the front end is yet unknown, it is anticipated to have design cues reminiscent of the recently unveiled Ioniq 6 N Line, such as aggressive color-contrasting strakes in the grille cover.

The goal of the Ioniq 6 N’s design modifications, according to Simon Loasby, Head of Hyundai Design, is to “maintain aerodynamic performance while achieving a smoother, more refined silhouette.” Loasby also disclosed that the Ioniq 6 N will have broader fenders than the Ioniq 5 N and that the huge rear wing was added to better counter lift.

With the addition of the Ioniq 5 N’s performance features, like a three-spoke N steering wheel, N badging, specific drive mode buttons, sporty front bucket seats, and more, the Ioniq 6 N’s inside is expected to look very similar to the standard facelifted vehicle.

The 84kWh dual-motor powertrain with simulated automated gear shifts that powers the Ioniq 5 N is probably going to be shared by the Ioniq 6 N. With a WLTP-tested range of up to 448 km, this configuration produces 650 horsepower, a 0-100 kph time of 3.4 seconds, and a peak speed of 260 kph in the Ioniq 5 N.
