Maruti E Vitara Revealed At Auto Expo 2025; Price Launch In March

The e Vitara, Maruti Suzuki‘s first electric vehicle, has finally been unveiled at Auto Expo 2025. The electric SUV will be introduced by the automaker in March and will compete with the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV, and MG ZS EV.

The e Vitara will be available for purchase with two battery pack options, staying loyal to the eVX idea that gave it a sneak peek back in 2023. Later in the year, Toyota’s twin, the Urban Cruiser EV, which was also displayed at the Auto Expo, will be available.

The e Vitara for India is based on a skateboard platform that was co-developed with Toyota. It will have 49kWh and 61kWh battery packs that employ BYD’s LFP (Lithium Iron-phosphate) “blade” cells. Front-axle mounted motors producing 143 horsepower and 173 horsepower, respectively, power the 49kWh and 61kWh battery packs; the torque on each is 192.5 Nm.

Although the exact range has not yet been disclosed, Maruti claims that the bigger battery pack will have a MIDC-rated range of more than 500 kilometres.

A new ‘e for Me’ plan has also been revealed by Maruti, which calls for the installation of fast chargers at dealerships in the top 100 cities, a charging app, and more than 1,500 EV-specific service centres spread across more than 1,000 locations.

The Maruti e Vitara has a two-box, upright shape and a powerful appearance, but some features, such the huge alloy wheels and sharper edges and creases, have been toned down. The e Vitara comes with 225/55 R18 tires as standard. Ten colours and four dual-tone variations will be offered.

Notable design elements of this eSUV, which measures 4,275 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and 1,640 mm in height, include a charging outlet on the front left fender, a noticeable bulge above the rear tire arch, a C-pillar-mounted rear door handle, and tri-slash LED daytime running lights at the front and rear. According to Maruti, the e Vitara’s turning radius is 5.2 meters.

Highlights of the e Vitara’s dashboard layout, which sets it apart from other Marutis’ sold in India, include a 10.1-inch instrument cluster, a floating 10.25-inch screen for the infotainment and instrumentation console, a two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, rectangular AC vents with brushed silver surrounds, physical climate control buttons, and upholstery that is partially leatherette and partially fabric.
