New Rolls Royce electric vehicles to debut in 2025

A new electric car will be unveiled this year, according to Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. As of right now, the Spectre is the only electric vehicle in the premium automaker’s lineup. The future EV’s specs and timing were not disclosed. Automotive News reported in September 2024 that the newest Rolls-Royce vehicle may be a smaller SUV than the Cullinan. The British luxury carmaker intends to expand its Goodwood manufacturing by more than 300 million pounds in order to increase production of new electric vehicles and expand its already lucrative customisation initiatives. Interestingly, since the company’s UK headquarters debuted in 2003, this is the largest investment made there.

There will also be more custom-built coachbuilt (Sweptail, Boat Tail, and Droptail) and bespoke (Phantom, Cullinan, Spectre, and Ghost) vehicles produced here, which require more room and manufacturing time. Rolls-Royce set a milestone in 2024 when the value of its customised content in each car rose by 10% year. Last year, Middle Eastern purchasers added the most bespoke stuff to the Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended Wheelbase, which was still the most customised vehicle. The Spectre EV came in second.

Hybrid powertrains are not planned as part of Rolls-Royce’s shift to electric cars from combustion engines. Brownridge went on to say, “We will not provide anything in between our Spectre electric and V12 [cars].” Some of Bentley’s and Aston Martin’s current models come with hybrid options. According to Brownridge, Rolls-Royce can continue to phase out combustion models by 2030, even while other luxury automakers are delaying their transition plans due to the decline in demand for EVs.

With plans to phase out combustion engines by 2030 and no intermediate hybrid vehicles, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is unwavering in its commitment to a totally electric future. Its emphasis on custom workmanship and innovation is shown by the impending EV, which might be an SUV, and the significant £300 million investment in its Goodwood site. With the Phantom Extended Wheelbase and Spectre EV leading the way in 2024’s record-high customized customization, Rolls-Royce is continuing to raise the bar for luxury. Its daring transition approach sets it apart from other high-end companies and confirms its position as a pioneer in fusing tradition with the sustainable luxury of the future.
