The auction was started in the morning for over 10,500 MHz radiowaves worth over ₹96,238.45 crores.

The DoT (Department of Telecommunications) began the auction of 10,500 megahertz mobile service radio waves to telecom players in eight bands. It began at 10 am on June 25. Across the spectrum, the frequencies of megahertz include, 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 2,100 MHz, 2,300 MHz, 2,500 MHz, and 3,300 MHz and the 26 gigahertz brands.

The auction was started in the morning for over 10,500 MHz radiowaves worth over 96,238.45 crores. Also, this is the spectrum option that started in 2010 and the debut task of the newly appointed Union Telecom Minister Jyothiraditya Scindia.

According to the reports, the data shows that around 15,000 crores are set up to be purchased in the auction by private giants like Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio and Vodafone Idea.

The band who bought at this spectrum auction will be allowed to keep in charge valid for 20 years from the date of purchase and other phone companies are advised to surrender their spectrum after 10 years. The pre-payment due is accepted without penalties and those purchases can also ask for a moratorium for direct payment for the corresponding number of years.

According to the reports, Reliance Jio has deposited a whopping 3,000 crores which is the highest earnest of all. It will help the company to buy the potential to pay for the maximum number of radio waves.

The 3300 MHz is one of the key bands providing 5G services and it may attract the interest of Airtel and Jio which have low capital expenditure, with radio waves ranging from 20 MHz to -100 MHz on the list for auction in the same band.

The prices have been hiked by 12 per cent in 3,300 anticipating demands for the purchase. The spectrum reserve price in 26GHz was increased by 8.9 per cent in the auction. At the same time, DoT didn’t include any spectrum in the auction with a band of 600 MHz and 7oo MHz respectively.
