Central Board of Secondary Education or CBSE, the national level examination conducting agency and schooling regulator, conducted the CBSE Class 12 English paper today for the academic year 2023-2024. The board held the English Elective and English Core papers today and, according Principal of Army Public School Delhi Cantt Dr Neetu Kapoor and Head of Department English and PGT Malathi Srinivasan, the question papers were ‘good balanced’ and the students found the question paper easy.
“Paper is a good balanced paper. Syllabus was well covered. Topics in the writing section are students . The paper is student friendly. Generally well prepared students can easily score 80 to 90 percent. It caters to intelligent, average snd below average children. The paper was totally based on CBSE sample paper. Hence the students found the paper easy and it is a good start for class XII students,” Dr Kapoor and Ms Srinivasan told Timeline.
According to a report, most of the questions asked in the English paper were textual and that would give an edge to the students who have done preparations well.
An expert said the Reading and Literature section of the CBSE Class 12 English paper featured competency-based questions, following the pattern outlined by CBSE, comprising a blend of subjective and objective questions.
The multiple-choice questions proved effective, requiring students to infer answers, a task they accomplished adeptly, she added.
”The longer questions in literature skillfully interconnected narratives and poems, allowing students to demonstrate their understanding effectively. Those who diligently studied the NCERT books were well-equipped to tackle the paper and provided satisfactory responses,” she said.
