CBSE Board Exam: Annual Psycho-Social Counselling Begins February 1

New Delhi, 29 January 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will commence its annual Psycho-Social Counselling Service for Class X and XII students from 1 February 2025, continuing until 4 April 2025. This initiative, launched in 1998, aims to provide psychological and emotional support to students and parents during the critical examination period.

The first phase of the counselling programme is designed to help students manage exam-related stress as they prepare for their theory exams, which begin on 15 February 2025. The second phase will follow after the announcement of results.

A toll-free Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) at 1800-11-8004 will provide students with essential information, including tips for stress-free exam preparation, time and stress management techniques, answers to frequently asked questions, and important CBSE contact details.

A team of 66 trained professionals, including school principals, counsellors, special educators, and psychologists, will offer voluntary tele-counselling support from Monday to Saturday, 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Fifty-one counsellors are based in India, while 15 international experts from Nepal, Japan, Qatar, Oman, and the UAE will assist students abroad.

CBSE has also made bilingual podcasts and videos available on its official website (www.cbse.gov.in). These resources cover stress management strategies, study techniques, and mental well-being guidance.
