Complaints Mount Up From NEET PG Aspirants

NEET PG 2024 entrance examination is set to be held on August 11, 2024, after getting postponed once on July 23, 2024, to ensure the robustness of the exam. The examination city slips were released on July 31 and the admit card is scheduled to be released on August 8.

However, several voices of students are coming out to reschedule the examination as the exam centres allotted to them are not feasible to reach and candidates could not arrange travel resources to reach the centres on time. Candidates are poised with other exam-related concerns and are expressing their concerns on social media platforms. A petition is also filed in the Supreme Court demanding the directives to reschedule the examination primarily for travel purposes along with some other issues.

One user wrote on social media ‘X’ about the travel inconvenience and said, “After 7 pm how will I reach back home? … I should travel 300kms from there… I don’t have car and all…only depend on public transport… I hope i get bus back home … Y can’t they keep in 1 session? No one knows how normalisation works”.

The writ petition filed in the Supreme Court which is slated to be heard on August 9, tomorrow demanded the postponing of the examination along with conducting the exam in single shift instead of in double shifts as there is no clarification on the normalization process adopted by the medical board.

This concern is also shared by another medical student on the ‘X’ who summed up the NEET PG candidate’s demand in three points, the first one being the Centre allocation, the second being the single shift exam, and the third as the normalization of the 4 exams.

Another user said, “Neet PG Aspirants Are Worried About The NBE Drama Than Exam. NBE Guys Had 1 Thing To Do And That Is Conduct A Fair Examination. That is not Gonna Happen With The Normalization. Centre Allocation is a joke. NBE Guys Should Quit And be replaced With Some Able People”.

However, the examination authorities said that conducting the exam in two shifts will allow for a better supervision and improved arrangements in different states and examination centres. This will ensure more effective coordination and management during the examination process.

If you want to take exam on 11th do it without normalisation and give nearby centres or if you want time to tackle this then postpone it to a certain date, but please make this exam simple, do not add any new bumps @JPNadda #NEETPG #NEETPG2024“, writes another user expressing concern over the two shifts of examination and normalization process.

Candidates are also frustrated over the allotment of centres at hundreds of kilometers away despite being given the choices of centres and rescheduling of centres. One user calling the system inhumane writes, “@NbeIndia Please appoint some human beings in NBE, are you people not getting paid for your work? If you can’t fulfill the provided options then why it was asked? Why allocate centres at a far place which we didn’t opt? #NEETPG2024 Real injustice”

One user said, “So this whole drama of grievance/ help desk was to give false hope to aspirants. No normalization,no two shifts, no far away centers #BoycottNEETPG #POSTPONENEETPG2024 #NEETPG2024

Another user allegedly targeted NBEMS for discriminating between the rich and poor and wrote, “Yes , people comfortably sitting in big cities with centres in their home city will obviously want to not have to compete with tens of thousands of people who cant reach centres in floods. NBEMS just wants rich people in medicine, it is obvious”.

The irony of the examination centres is not only that people have got the distant centres infact some users are complaining about the information of the changed centres after they have started their journeis towards their earlier centres. One user who’s friend had already left for his center wrote.

Social media is flooded with such complaints where candidates and concerned people are raising issues and tagging concerned authorities to heed some attention to their grievances. One user shared the recurrent nature of exam related issues and wrote.
