The infrastructure, best faculties, and students’ outstanding performance in classrooms, elections, huge annual functions, and fests are not the only parameters for analyzing the success of an educational institution. The number and kind of employment opportunities secured by the students after completing their studies is another major dimension to gauging the prominence of an institution.
Most of the eminent colleges and universities in India including Delhi University, AMU, Jamia Millia Islamia, JNU, BHU, IITs, NITs, IIMs, and other major institutions have their placement cells to help students find employment opportunities on campus.

Delhi University has its own Central Placement Cell (CPC), which time-to-time encourages students to register and participate in Job Mela hosted by the university. Apart from the Central Placement Cell, most of the DU colleges have their respective placement cells. Students can go to the official website of Delhi University – du.ac.in to participate in Central Placements and also visit the respective colleges’ websites to enroll in the college placement drives.
Under the CPC Job mela students studying in regular courses of colleges can apply through the information available on the portal from time to time by the university. Similarly, students in respective colleges can register on the placement cells to learn about upcoming opportunities. Top DU colleges including St Stephen’s College, Miranda House, Lady Shri Ram College, Hansraj College, and Hindu College among others do not participate in the CPC as they have their campus placement cells.
As per the St Stephen’s College Recruitment 2024-25 broucher, the highest base pay package was 20 LPA and the average base pay package was 9.3 LPA. The top 4 roles offered were Associate business analyst, Investment Banking Analyst, and Associate Consultant. Consulting, Fiannce and Education remained the top recruitment areas. The BA (H) Economics students secured the hightest placements followed by BA (H) Mathematics and B.A Programme.
The Miranda House Quarterly Report (2022-2023) shows the hightest package of 21.5 LPA to students of B.Sc Physical Science with Computer Science and BA Programme. The average offers remained at 8.97 LPA and the minimum were at 4.5 LPA. The highest numbers of offers were received by the BA (Hons) Economics students followed by BA Programme and BSc. (Hons) Mathematics. The highest number of placements were noted in Financial Services, Consulting and Travel industries.

The Lady Shri Ram College placement season 2022-23 report informes participation of over 140 companies extending 236 offers to the students. The highest package bagged by a student was INR 44.8 LPA and an average package amounted to INR 11.8 LPA.
Similarly other top colleges receives companies every year through their own placement cells and also through CPC of the Delhi University. Apart from placement, multiple internship opportunities lies with the placement cells for the students enrolled in different courses.
Campus placement cells provide an easier way to students to understand the recrutiment procedure and an opportuntiy to learn the process via appearing in the process.
