The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) launched a new Bachelor of Arts program in Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (BAMSME) through the School of Vocational Education and Training (SOVET). The course is designed to provide essential business skills to aspiring entrepreneurs through Open and Distance Learning (ODL). The application window is open and candidates can apply for the July 2024 session via the official website – ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
The course is designed for students after class 12 and focuses on providing them with the required skills and knowledge to establish and manage new business ventures. The course is accessible to a broader audience via the ODL, offering flexibility in learning.
The course duration is 3 years divided into six semesters and the maximum time limit is 6 years. Students will get a total of 120 credits, with 20 credits per semester. The medium of the instruction is English and the annual course fee is Rs 5,100. The entire course fee is Rs 15,300.

As per the IGNOU, the primary objective of the course is to ensure the successful and profitable operation of business enterprises, offer innovation, a competency-based approach to entrepreneurship education, and enhance the managerial skills of the students. This aims to develop leadership qualities that are essential for both self-empowerment and the employment of others.
