Amid row over paper leaks in the central entrance examination, many student organizations have come forward protesting and in demand for the immediate removal of the National Testing Agency (NTA).
The protests against the NTA process have gained momentum as many student bodies extended solidarity. Despite exposing the scam which has jeopardized the future of thousands of students, the NTA has announced a retest to be conducted. Opposing the stance taken up by the government, several student bodies including Fraternity Movement have demanded the scrapping of NTA and the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Refusing to compensate for the canceled exams, the government continued with its authoritarian approach, said the National President of Fraternity Movement, Asil Khan.
“Moreover, the authorities have yet to announce an option for applicants to edit their exam city preferences, causing significant hardship for many, especially those studying outside their originally chosen exam city,” he added.
In light of the recent UGC-NET and CSIR-NET controversies that have jeopardized the futures of thousands of students, the NTA has announced a re-test for these exams, scheduled between July and September 2024. Protesting against the move, the student body has decided to launch a mass email campaign and petition submissions.

“We urge the student community to join us in this fight for justice. Demand an immediate option to edit city preferences and ensure a convenient city allotment for all affected students. Together, we can hold NTA accountable for their mismanagement and ensure fair treatment for all,” Asil Khan added.
